About Frank Camaratta
Frank Camaratta Jr., known as "The Maestro," is one of the world's foremost authorities on Staunton and pre-Staunton chess equipment, with over 60 years of experience in competitive chess, design, and collecting. An International Master and inventor of several chess-related patents, including the renowned Time Delay system, he has made significant contributions to chess innovation and scholarship.
In 1990, Frank founded The House of Staunton with a vision to combine traditional craftsmanship with historically accurate chess design. Following extensive research into classic Staunton patterns, he dedicated himself full-time to producing premium chess equipment.
